Purdue hopes for road win against struggling Indiana

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue needs a win Saturday at Indiana to become eligible for a bowl game.

The problem is that the Boilermakers haven’t won a road game all season. Purdue is 5-2 at home, including wins over Ohio State and Illinois, but is 0-4 away from Ross-Ade Stadium.

Purdue was breaking in new quarterback Caleb TerBush when it lost 24-22 at Rice after missing a last-second field goal. The Boilermakers pushed Penn State before losing 23-18, but their most recent road losses were 36-14 against Michigan and 62-17 at Wisconsin.

The Hoosiers have lost their past four home games while being outscored 175-75. Their only home win came against South Carolina State, a Football Championship Subdivision program. Indiana is coming off a 55-3 loss at Michigan State.
