Seniors to wrap your gifts to help veterans group

In the holiday spirit, senior citizen residents who reside at Pathway Senior Living communities at 10 locations throughout Chicago and the suburbs will be wrapping gifts from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, in support of “Helping Our Heroes Wrapping Day.”

Locally, at Victory Centre of Bartlett, 1101 W. Bartlett Road, the public is invited to stop by with packages to be gift wrapped. The volunteer seniors will gladly wrap your items in exchange for a donation in any amount to benefit “Helping Our Heroes.”

Your tax deductible donation will go toward helping Illinois military servicemen/women, veterans and policemen/women and firemen/women injured in the line of duty offset home-related expenses due to financial troubles. Helping Our Heroes, a nonprofit foundation based out of Downers Grove, has had more requests for support in October than they did in all of 2010. You can help support Illinois families in need and shorten your to-do list.

For information, call Victory Centre of Bartlett at (630) 213-0100 or visit www.HelpingOurHeroes.org, where you can make an online donation.
