History center unveils Geneva Giving Trees

The Geneva History Center will unveil the fourth annual Geneva Giving Trees at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 25. There will be 17 Christmas trees decorated by various nonprofit groups that serve the Geneva area.

Each tree is decorated in accordance with each organization’s mission and areas of service.

The organizations include: International Organization of Good Templars, Fox Valley Volunteer Hospice, Geneva Park District, Marklund, Kiwanis Club of Geneva, Elderday Center, National Alliance on Mental Illness DeKalb, Kane-South, and Kendall Counties Inc., Association for Individual Development, Geneva Academic Foundation, Hearts of Hope, Geneva Mothers’ Club, Salvation Army Golden Diners-Geneva, Zellmer Childhood Disease Foundation NFP, Girl Scouts of the USA Geneva Service Unit, Conley Outreach Community Services, Geneva Green Market, and Ecker Center for Mental Health.

The public is invited to vote for their favorite tree with their dollars Nov. 26-Dec. 27 at the Geneva History Center or online at www.genevahistorycenter.org. The winning organization will keep 100 percent of the funds pledged to support their tree. The remaining organizations will split their winnings with the Geneva History Center.

The winner will be announced at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, at the Geneva History Center, 113 S. Third St., Geneva.
