Dundee Twp. parks dedicates Rakow Center after family

Submitted by Dundee Township Park District

The Dundee Township Park District recently held a dedication ceremony for the Rakow Center, 665 Barrington Ave., in Carpentersville.

The building is being named to honor Gene and Craig Rakow for their over 40 years of combined leadership, service and commitment.

“The Rakow family’s tireless contributions have impacted the lives of countless individuals who participate in park district activities,” said Tom Mammoser, executive director of the Dundee Township Park District. “During their years of service, many crucial decisions were made to shape and contribute to the success of our current park district.”

Gene Rakow served as a Dundee Township Park District commissioner from 1969 to 1981. Craig Rakow has been a commissioner since 1981 and is currently in his 31st year of service to the community.
