Entitled to socialism?

I would like to thank Mary Lou Hoeltje for her Oct. 30 letter to Fence Post in which she expressed her discomfort with Barack Obama being in the White House “because his ultimate objective is to make a socialist state out of a republic like the good old USA.”

She mentioned being 84 years old, so I assume that during the last 20 years or so she has received lots of Social Security and Medicare checks, but considering her strong negative feelings about socialism, I am confident that she would never have cashed any of them. Bless her heart.
