Cops: Juveniles broke into Oak Brook Macy’s, stole 60 watches

Three Villa Park juveniles have been charged after breaking into the Macy’s at Oakbrook Center and stealing jewelry and cash, according to police.

The suspects, whose names are being withheld, shot out the glass doors of the Macy’s about 4 a.m. Friday with a BB gun, according to Oak Brook police. They stole cash from multiple cash registers and broke into display cases to steal more than 60 watches, police said.

Oak Brook police responded to the scene after receiving a call from mall security and an activated burglar alarm. They caught two suspects fleeing on foot.

Both had the stolen cash and watches on them, police said, and the third suspect was taken into custody at his home shortly after.

All three are being held in lieu of $50,000 bail on one count of commercial burglary.
