Judson women fall at NAIA nationals
The Judson University women’s soccer team came up short Saturday in its opening round game of the NAIA National Tournament in Daytona Beach, Fla.
The No. 15 Eagles lost to No. 8 Embry Riddle 1-0. The winners scored the game’s only goal in the 15th minute.
Judson (16-3-2) had 8 shots on goal in the game but couldn’t find the back of net.
The Eagles will now wait to see if they receive an at-large bid to the NCCAA National Tournament.
Men’s soccer
Judson 1, Trinity Christian 0: In a 4-3 shootout decision, the Judson University men’s soccer team downed Trinity Christian and will advance to its third straight NCCAA National Tournament. Neil Thompson had 4 saves on the day. Judson is now 13-8-1.
Cross country
NAIA National Meet: Nate Nevius ran an 8K time of 26:12 to finish 158th out of 312 runners at the NAIA National Meet Saturday, while Sarah Miller clocked a 20:00 in the women’s 5K to finish 187th out of 323 runners.
Women’s basketball
St. Mary’s of the Woods 79, Judson 76: Karen Senette led Judson with 20 points in this nonconference loss. Shaniqua Roberts had 16 points and Ricquel Butler added 12 for the Eagles (2-5).
Men’s basketball
Clarke College 97, Judson 88: Josh Edwards had 25 points and Landon Skinner added 23 for Judson (1-6) in this loss at the Judson Classic.
