Village releases board minutes for November meeting
On Nov. 18, Lombard Village President William J. Mueller and Village Clerk Brigitte O'Brien released the Lombard Village Board of Trustee's Action of Nov. 17, 2011.
VILLAGE BOARD MEETING
Ordinances Approved With the Waiver of First Reading as Requested
• Request to grant approval of a conditional use for a planned development, amending the maximum number of tenant spaces within the existing retail center at 215–223 E. Roosevelt Rd., 120-124 E. 13th Street. This item was approved with the waiver of first reading and passed on second reading.
• Request for a 12-month extension for a planned development for the property at 300 W. 22nd St. The property was recently foreclosed on by CenTrust Bank who is trying to sell the project with the current zoning in place which was approved by the Plan Commission and Board in 2006. As market conditions have not been favorable to develop the project at this time, granting an extension is in the best interest of the Village.
Other Ordinances on First Reading
• Resident request at 661 N. Charlotte Street to reduce the required back yard setback from 30 feet to 15 feet to allow for the construction of a screened porch addition. Request was denied by the Zoning Board of Appeals and was continued to the December 1 meeting by the Village Board.
• Tax Levy Ordinance providing for the levy and assessment of taxes for the fiscal year beginning June 1, 2011 and ending May 31, 2012.
Ordinances Approved on Second Reading
• Plan Commission recommendation for the property at 777 E. Butterfield Rd. to allow for the re-opening of a restaurant including outdoor dining area on the subject property. The site has been vacant for more than 12 months and requires a new conditional use. The site was previously operated as Magnum's Prime Steak House and Topo Gigio and is consistent with the Village's Comprehensive Plan and surrounding land uses.
Resolutions Approved
• A resolution providing for a binding public question concerning limiting the terms of office for elected officials in the Village of Lombard to be held on November 6, 2012.
• Authorizing an increase to the contract in the amount of $2,085.00 for the crosswalk at Lincoln and St. Charles Rd. in downtown Lombard.
• Authorizing a contract with Christopher Burke Engineering LTD in the amount not to exceed $111,069.67 for the Terrace View Pond Improvements
Other Matters
Approved the following:
• A contract through the State of Illinois with North American Salt Company in an amount not to exceed $256,400 for the purchase of salt for the current winter season. The price for this year is $64.10 per ton for a total of 4,000 tons.

• A contract with Lauterbach and Amen LLP for auditing services for the conversion from a fiscal year ending on May 31 to a calendar fiscal year.
