Chicago Wolves whip Milwaukee Admirals

MILWAUKEE — The streaking Chicago Wolves poured in the first 5 goals and went on to claim a 6-3 victory the Milwaukee Admirals in an Amtrak Rivalry matchup Friday night at the Bradley Center.

Darren Haydar and Mark Mancari each scored a goal and notched a pair of assists to pace the Wolves to their fourth straight triumph.

The Wolves (7-5-0-2) opened the scoring when center Kevin Doell intercepted the puck and dropped a pass to Haydar, who sent a one-timer past goaltender Jeremy Smith at 4:19 of the first period.

The Wolves doubled their lead at 5:46 of the second period when Haydar set up Kevin Connauton for a goal. It became 3-0 when Haydar’s shot redirected off Nathan Longpre’s skate at 8:01 of the second period. Bill Sweatt put the Wolves ahead 4-0 when he scored on a 5-on-3 advantage. Mike Duco also scored.

The Wolves’ Matt Climie (5-2-0) saved 31 shots to earn his fourth consecutive win.

The Wolves host the San Antonio Rampage today at 7 p.m. at the Allstate Arena.
