Palatine Kiwanis Club installs new officers

Submitted by Jim Dewey

The Kiwanis Club of Palatine installed its new administration and board of directors in October at the Mackray Country Club in Barrington.

New officers include: Don Bextel, president; Ross Ketelboeter, president-elect; Len Mazurowski, treasurer; and Jim Parker, secretary. The board of directors includes the officers and Jayne Elvey, Robin Packer, and Bruce Blanck. All but Elvey are Palatine residents, and all will serve for one year.

Palatine Kiwanis is a part of Kiwanis International, dedicated to serving the children and needy of the world. The local club, celebrating 51 years of service in Palatine, annually distributes over $25 thousand to local charities and organizations.

In addition, the club and its junior high school partner, the Sundling Builders Club, provide food certificates for needy families for the holidays, parties for shut-in senior citizens, and, with the Palatine Jaycees, an annual Christmas Party for needy children.

Kiwanis members are eager helpers, volunteering their time and skills in projects around the community.
