Lake County exchange clubs host prayer breakfast Nov. 22

Lake County Exchange Clubs will host the 31st annual “One Nation Under God” Prayer Breakfast from 7 to 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 22, at the Village Church of Gurnee, 1319 Hunt Club Road.

The event’s featured speaker will be retired U.S. Navy Rear Adm. Mack Gaston, whose distinguished 31-year military career culminated in his position as Commander of the Naval Training Base at Great Lakes.

The entire community is welcome to attend the annual event which is offered free again this year because of the sponsorship of six Lake County Exchange Clubs: the Gurnee Exchange Club; the Grayslake Exchange Club; the Antioch, Lake Villa, Lindenhurst Exchange Club; the North Chicago Exchange Club; the Round Lake Exchange Club; and the Libertyville, Mundelein, Vernon Hills Exchange Club.

In addition to the presentation by Gaston, members from the Grayslake North High School Band will perform. Other program highlights include: Welcoming Remarks by Dick Welton, member of the Gurnee Exchange Club; Presentation of Colors by representatives from the Gurnee Police and Fire Departments Color Guard; Recognition of veterans; Invocation by the Rev. Todd Habegger, senior pastor at Village Church of Gurnee; and Benediction by the Rev. Mustafa Abdullah, Mount Calvary Baptist Church of Kenosha.

Exchange is a national organization designed for men and women interested in serving their community, developing leadership and service skills and enjoying new friendships. It is comprised of over 900 clubs with approximately 30,000 members throughout the United States and Puerto Rico.
