21 cited for underage drinking at Lake Zurich party
Lake Zurich police cited 21 teenagers for underage drinking at a party Saturday night, officials said.
Deputy Chief Kevin Finlon said officers responded to a noise complaint in the 400 block of Cromwell Court at 10:20 p.m. Saturday and stumbled upon the large, juvenile party.
Officers spoke with numerous individuals at the party, Finlon said, and determined that several under the age of 21 had consumed alcohol.
Cited for underage possession or consumption of alcoholic liquor were:
Jonathan D. Mularz, 18, of the 200 block of Knox Park Road in Lake Zurich; Kevin M. Schaar, 19, of the 1300 block of Country Club Road in Lake Zurich; Bradley M. Iwicki, 19, of the 2100 block of W. Highland Drive in Lake Zurich; Austin J. Braun, 18, of the 500 block of Ripplebrook Court in the Lake Zurich; Jeffrey T. Schultz, 18, of 59 Mionske Drive in Lake Zurich; Kevin J. In addition, eight juveniles received citations for similar violations, but their names were withheld by police because of their ages.
Individuals cited will be required to pay a fine or attend a village adjudication hearing if they want to dispute the allegations.
Finlon said it is the policy of the Lake Zurich Police Department to thoroughly investigate all reported incidents, and are dedicated to eliminating the dangers associated with the consumption of alcoholic liquor by those that are underage.
