York

Top players: Alex Harrell, sr., C; Tawny Tucci, sr., G; Megan Holmes, sr., F; Molly Holmes, sr., F; Hailey Park, sr., G; AnnaBell Lansdowne, jr., G; Molly Schlecht, sr., C; Alyssa Kovatchis, fr., G; Jessica Bianchi, fr., G; Paige Wrasse, so, F.

Scouting report: The Dukes ended a 17-year drought last year, winning a share of their first Silver title since 1994. That taste has them hungry for more. The seven-senior deep group includes nine returning varsity players, although York must replace two-time all-area forward Mary Colon. This team could have more of a “different girl every night” balance. Look for returning all-conference guard Lansdowne to take a lot of the big shots. Harrell and Tucci are other returning starters. The Holmes sisters and Schlect were supporting cast types who will take on expanded roles this year. This senior group is no stranger to success; they won conference as juniors and as sophomores at the sophomore level and took second as freshmen. “I really get the impression that this group has been chomping at the bit for their year,” Reinecke said.
