MARTINSVILLE, Ind. — Police say a standoff is over at a rural Central Indiana home where four officers were trapped for more than two hours.
State police Capt. David Bursten says officers brought the subject of the standoff out of the house near Martinsville shortly before noon Wednesday. Bursten says the man had non-life-threatening injuries. Video on WTHR-TV showed officers wheeling the man out on a gurney.
The man had kept a U.S. marshal, two Johnson County sheriff’s deputies and a Franklin police officer from leaving the home after they tried to serve an arrest warrant. Bursten says the officers were able to leave safely.
Police and media reports said state and Morgan County police tactical teams were called to the scene after the officers were trapped about 8 a.m.
