Bartlett Lions seek donations for holiday meals

For the past three years the Bartlett Lions Club has organized and delivered a complete holiday meal to area families who are in need of help. This year, even more of area residents will need help during the holiday season.

Last year, the Bartlett Lions procured 4-pound smoked hams, mixed vegetables, potatoes, gravy, breakfast cereal, cake mix, frosting, hot chocolate, paper goods and more. Lions members then sorted and packed these items into boxes that were delivered to local schools and food banks. The boxes were finally distributed to over 400 families, who were able to enjoy a complete and wholesome holiday meal, a meal otherwise beyond their financial means.

The year, the Bartlett Lions would again like to expand this holiday tradition to as many families as possible and are seeking the help of Bartlett residents and local businesses who would like to help support its efforts. Donations of food (nonrefrigerated) and paper products (napkins, paper towels, facial tissue) will be gratefully accepted and included in the holiday boxes. Financial support is also welcome and needed.

To donate, please contact the Lions Club directly at (630) 200-0217 or bartlettlionsclub@yahoo.com.
