Reinhart to appear at Wheeling lights festival
Wheeling native and “American Idol” alum Haley Reinhart will be back in her hometown Sunday night to help residents kick off the holiday season.
Reinhart, 21, plans to attend the Wheeling lights festival starting at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20 to help Village President Judy Abruscato flip the switch on holiday lights around town.
Residents are welcome to Friendship Park at the northeast corner of Dundee and Milwaukee to enjoy the lights, hot chocolate, music and maybe a surprise song by Reinhart.
The local singer will already be in town for the weekend with fellow “Idol”-alum Casey Abrams to sing at 2:30 p.m. at the Magnificent Mile Lights Festival at BMO Harris Bank Stage on Michigan Avenue in Chicago Saturday, Nov. 19.
The two will perform their new cover of “Baby, It's Cold Outside.” The single reunites the perennial duet partners and is set to be released on iTunes and Amazon on Monday.
She and Abrams are also set to perform the holiday classic at 9 a.m. the same day on ABC 7's morning show,“Windy City Live.”
Reinhart finished third on the past season of the singing reality show and has begun recording her debut album in Los Angeles.
Abrams, who finished sixth, is a Wilmette native.
