Rotary Club of Buffalo Grove to host Pizza Fest Tuesday
You don’t have to cook Tuesday, Nov. 15, thanks to the Rotary Club of Buffalo Grove. Grab the family and go to the Pizza Fest from 5 to 8 p.m. at Buffalo Grove High School. Admission is only $2 and each slice of pizza, drink or cookie is only $1.
You will enjoy many varieties of America’s favorite food thanks to participating local pizza establishments including Lou Malnati’s, Nino’s, Wa-pa-Ghetti’s, Domino’s, 30’s, Jet’s and more. Rotary appreciates the contribution these businesses are offering to help Rotary in their mission.
During this benefit, Rotary will be collecting the nonperishable food items you bring to help stock up the Wheeling Food Pantry, which was recently opened with the coordination of the Wheeling Rotary Club. Rotary clubs work hard with other groups to keep shelves stocked since demand for food has doubled in the last year.
Rotary is the world’s first and largest service organization whose members form a global network of business, professional and community leaders, who volunteer their time and talents to serve their communities and the world. Strong fellowship among Rotarians and meaningful humanitarian service projects characterize Rotary worldwide.
Buffalo Grove Rotary supports many local charities and community initiatives including hunger relief, safety programs, Special Olympics, park improvements, school programs and student exchanges. Beyond their local efforts, its members have traveled to global service projects that include providing fresh water in Africa, immunization efforts to eradicate polio in India and development projects for schools in the Guatemalan jungle.
Rotary International sponsors the largest youth exchange program in the world and promotes world peace and understanding on a person-to-person basis. Currently, a Rotary exchange student from Thailand attends Stevenson High School and a Danish student attends Buffalo Grove High School.
Plan to see your friends and neighbors on Nov. 15 at the Pizza Fest and support worthy Rotary projects. For information, visit www.bgrotary.org.
