12-year-old driver caused C. Ind. crash
ANDERSON, Ind. — Police in central Indiana say a 12-year-old driving a pickup truck caused a crash that put a woman in the hospital with injuries.
Madison County Sheriff Ron Richardson tells The Herald Bulletin that the youth was following his uncle driving another truck Sunday morning when the young driver turned into the path of a car on a county road a few miles southwest of Anderson.
The woman driving the car was taken to an Indianapolis hospital with leg, shoulder and head injuries, while a 10-year-old passenger suffered injuries from a seat belt. The boy driving the truck wasn't injured.
Richardson says that criminal charges are expected against the owner of the truck.
