School bus seat belts a missing safety piece
A recent article mentioned that Secretary of State Jesse White wants to change the motorcycle helmet laws for adolescent riders. I agree that children younger than 18 who are not of the age of consent should be either required to wear safety helmets or not permitted to ride on motorcycles at all. They are all required to buckle up in an automobile for safety. I would consider that the back seat of the auto would be much safer than riding on the back of a motorcycle.
But speaking of the safety of our children: Why is it that thousands upon thousands of Illinois children are driven to and from school in a bus and are not required to wear seat belts?
