Hoffman Estates police arrest woman for prostitution

A 23-year-old Milwaukee woman who had been arrested twice in the last 45 days on prostitution charges was arrested again Friday on similar charges by Hoffman Estates police, authorities said.

Shanitta Horton was also charged with resisting arrest following Friday’s arrest at a motel on the 2000 block of Barrington Road. Prosecutors said none of the arresting officers was injured during the brief fracas that ensued as she was arrested.

Assistant Cook County State’s Attorney Moe Ahmad said Horton was arrested Friday evening after undercover Hoffman Estates officers responded to an online advertisement. Horton was also arrested Sept. 30 and Nov. 2 on prostitution charges. Ahmad said one of the cases is still pending.

Horton’s bond was set at $2,000 during a Saturday morning hearing. She is being held at the Cook County jail. Her next court date is scheduled for Nov. 16.
