Debris cleared from Ind. Fair stage collapse site

INDIANAPOLIS — The wreckage from the Indiana State Fair stage collapse has been cleared away from the fairgrounds on the north side of Indianapolis.

WIBC-FM reports says the debris has been reassembled at a warehouse for an investigation by engineering firm Thornton Tomasetti.

High winds on Aug. 13 toppled temporary stage scaffolding and rigging onto fairgoers awaiting a concert by the country duo Sugarland. Seven people died and dozens more were injured.

Monday is the deadline to file a claim for money from a victims’ relief fund set up by the fair.

More than 100 plaintiffs have filed separate legal claims with the state over the collapse. They include the estates of the seven people who died.
