Sunoco said to plan Marcus Hook refinery alkylation unit work

Sunoco Inc. will shut an alkylation unit at the Marcus Hook refinery in Pennsylvania for work by Nov. 21, two people with direct knowledge of the project said.

The planned maintenance will last from Nov. 17 to Dec. 17 said one of the people, who declined to be identified because the information isn’t public. Work is scheduled to begin Nov. 21 and last 30 to 40 days, said the other person.

Thomas Golembeski, a Philadelphia-based spokesman for Sunoco, declined to comment.

The Marcus Hook refinery has a capacity of 194,000 barrels a day, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.
