Truck rolls over in Elgin, causes big delays
A rolled-over semi-trailer truck in Elgin caused major traffic delays on Randall Road Thursday morning, according to fire department officials.
The driver of the truck was making a turn onto Randall Road from Route 72 at about 9:49 a.m. when the truck rolled over for an unknown reason, said Tim Michaels, Elgin Fire Department Batallion Chief.
The truck toppled onto its right side, but the driver was able to climb out unharmed, Michaels said.
Fire crews from both Elgin and Rutland Dundee responded to the accident, and check the driver out at the scene and released him, Michaels said.
The northbound lanes of Randall Road were shut down for about an hour while crews worked to clear the accident.
