Testimony in fatal crash trial too much for juror
LA CROSSE, Wis. — Some of the testimony in the trial of a former sheriff’s deputy accused in a fatal crash was too much for one juror in La Crosse County.
The juror was dismissed late Wednesday after telling the judge she wasn’t mentally able to handle some testimony. The majority of Wednesday’s testimony in Trisha Stratman’s trial focused on reconstruction of the crash that killed Holmen High School student Brandon Jennings in July of last year.
Stratman ran a red light while responding to an emergency call and slammed into the teen’s car at 90 mph. WKBT-TV says one of the first responders to the crash, Onalaska Officer Dan McClusky, testified that Stratman told him she feared she had killed the boy.
