Hold Russia, China to sanctions on Iran
Obama When President Obama took office he said the U.S. should engage our enemies through conversation. Not only has Iran been laughing at us, in the past three years it has been more aggressive than ever because its leaders know we will not stand up to them. They speak at the U.N. with hate speech about our country as they are getting closer to a nuclear weapon while we do nothing.
In the past three years Obama has issued one meaningless sanction against Iran, which has done nothing. He is counting on the “international community” along with that dynamic organization, the U.N., to control Iran. Instead, both Russia and China work around the sanctions and continue to aid Iran. Now Iran is so unbelievably bold as to attempt an assassination of a U.N. ambassador on U.S. soil. The last thing we need is a war with Iran. But they do need to know we are serious and will protect our interests and not give them empty lip service.
It’s time for Obama to insist that Russia and China honor the sanctions. Only then will Iran fall in line when its leaders see they have no allies.
