AARP spreading lies about Social Security

I saw an ad on TV by the AARP that shows a senior citizen, with a gang of seniors behind him, saying: “I’m not a number. I’m not a line item on a budget. And I’m definitely not a pushover. But I am a voter. So, Washington, before you even think about cutting my Medicare, and Social Security benefits, here’s a number you should remember: 50 million. We are 50 million seniors who earned our benefits. And you will be hearing from us, today, and on Election Day.”

How dare you threaten anyone. Let me give you some advice, Grandpa. Look up the U.S. debt clock (get your grandson to help you find it). Don’t just note the national debt approaching $15 trillion; look at the “unfunded liabilities” for Social Security and Medicare. Now, can you see the trillions in shortcomings? Well, can ya? See, as it turns out, you did not earn your benefits. Medicare recipients for example get $3 in benefits for every $1 they paid in. How long do you think that can last? Boneheads like you and your gang, and the AARP, will only serve to destroy Social Security and Medicare for future generations, not that you care about them. All told the AARP should be ashamed and embarrassed for this misleading lie of an ad.
