Open house Nov. 14 for bus depot, commuter access feasibility study

The City of Naperville will host a public open house on Monday, November 14 for the Naperville Metra Station Bus Depot and Commuter Access Feasibility Study. Residents are invited to attend to review and comment on bus depot alternatives.

The open house will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Lower Level Meeting Rooms of the Naperville Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle St. No group presentation will be provided as the meeting is an open house format; however, representatives from the City will be available to answer questions and provide clarification. A copy of the meeting agenda will be available at www.naperville.il.us/busdepotfeasibility.aspx on Thursday, November 10.

Exhibits on display will include preliminary site plans demonstrating the configuration, access points and capacity of the bus depot alternatives. Information regarding the purpose and scope of the study, anticipated project schedule and public input opportunities will also be available for public review and comment.

An implementation action item from the 5th Avenue Study adopted by the City Council on December 1, 2010, the City is conducting the Naperville Metra Station Bus Depot and Commuter Access Feasibility Study to evaluate the potential for a bus depot near the Naperville Metra Station. A bus depot would help consolidate passenger pick-up/drop-off activity, minimize bus queues on local streets and reduce bus conflicts with pedestrian and kiss-and-ride activity.
