Hundreds attend vigil for slain delivery driver

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Hundreds of people gathered at a candlelight vigil in honor of a delivery driver fatally shot outside a Bloomington pizza shop.

Dozens of people stood in line for more than an hour before Monday night’s vigil started to buy pizzas at the Pizza X store and leave money in a donation bucket. The Herald-Times reports the store’s owners are donating all proceeds to a trust fund for 22-year-old Adam Sarnecki’s fiancee and three children.

The vigil followed the arrest earlier in the day of a 21-year-old man on charges he shot Sarnecki, who was trying to stop a car burglary early Friday.

Chelsea Sarnecki tells WISH-TV that the family can’t get revenge, but the man who shot her brother will get what he deserves in the end.
