Deerfield police team up with restaurant for Special Olympics
Submitted by Andy Richardson
Uniformed officers from the Deerfield Police Department served Tom & Eddie’s customers on Oct. 2 as part of a fundraiser titled “Burgers and Badges.”
Tom & Eddie’s donated 10 percent of net sales for the day, and more than $1,400 was raised for Special Olympics Illinois.
In addition to the 10 percent donation by Tom & Eddie’s, raffle tickets were sold to win a yellow and chrome 2011 Harley-Davidson Heritage Softail Classic, with six winners to be given keys at the Special Olympics headquarters in Bloomington later in October, one of which starts the Harley. The other five winners will receive 50-inch big screen TVs worth $1,000 each.
Tom & Eddie’s is a family-friendly, gourmet burger restaurant focused on giving its customers food made from natural products, personal customer service, and a relaxed dining experience.
