Tax payers can’t afford tablets for all

I could hardly believe my eyes this morning when I read that High School District 214 plans to provide its 12,000 students with iPads at a cost of $480 each.

Where does the school district expect this money to come from? Tax payers are taxed out, property values continue to fall, yet the school budget went up 15 percent on our recent tax bill.

My husband and I are trying to save for our retirement now that our three children have graduated from college and after scary times found good jobs. When we are retired, you can bet we will be looking for greener and less taxing areas.
