Miniatures club holds expo in Elk Grove
It’s the little things in life that matter — especially for the 55 members of the Wee “c” Miniature Club.
An exhibit this weekend offers a chance to peek into their miniature world. The 37th Annual Wee “c” Whimsical Wonderland Dollhouse Miniature Show and Sale is from 5-9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at the Holiday Inn, 1000 Busse Road, Elk Grove Village. Admission is $6.
This club boasts one of the largest dollhouse miniature exhibits in the Midwest. More than 100 miniature settings will be on display. This year, many members have created unique pavilions with different themes.

Some miniaturists make everything by hand, including tiny food, furniture, everything you’d find in a room setting. Others love to collect miniatures made by others.
Subject matter can range from very traditional Victorian styles to ethnic interpretations to the most modern and chic room settings. Scales can range from the traditional 1-inch to 1-foot scale to ½-inch, ¼-inch” or even 1/144-inch to the foot, or a dollhouse within a dollhouse.
At monthly meetings, the members gather to share ideas and techniques for creating dollhouses, rooms and all kinds of tiny creations.
