Be thankful for family get-togethers

Won’t be long. Thanksgiving is approaching. Invited to your kids house this year? I doubt it. Too many hours at work, difficult to pay rent and bills at minimum wage. They can’t afford the holiday, no time, no money. Fact is, they wouldn’t know how to cook it anyway. Family tradition has gone down the toilet.

If you’re inviting them, well, be happy they haven’t already moved back in.

We cook. I refuse to let all of my happiest moments growing up go.

One year I stuffed the wrong end of the bird. The laughing that produced made me wish I had done it on purpose.

It’s family being together, like the “old days” I miss so much.

And so, if you’re stuck cooking again, be thankful, thankful you have someone to cook for, thankful you have a home to do it in, thankful they still want to come.
