Gurnee police need help:

Gurnee Police are seeking the public’s help in solving an Aug. 21 armed robbery and Aug. 22 attempted armed robbery. The Aug. 21 case occurred at 9:46 p.m. in a restroom at Viking Park, 4374 Old Grand Ave. An African American male, 20 to 30 years of age, armed with a small silver-colored handgun, took approximately $300 cash, two wallets and a cellular phone from two male victims. He ran south accompanied by two other male subjects waiting outside the restroom. On Aug. 22, the cellphone taken from one of those victim was used to lure a cabdriver to Delany Road and Blanchard Avenue. A masked male attempted to commit an armed robbery of the cabdriver. A similar silver-colored handgun, but no property was taken. In both cases, the suspect left on foot toward apartment complexes near the Gurnee/Waukegan border.
