Interstate crash that killed 2 investigated
OSSEO, Wis. — The Wisconsin State Patrol is investigating a fiery interstate crash involving three semitrailers that killed two people from Michigan.
Two others were injured in the crash on Interstate 94 in Trempealeau (TREMP’-eh-loh) County Wednesday.
Troopers say a westbound semi operated by Werner Enterprises crossed the median and struck two eastbound semis. Two of the semis became engulfed in flames after the crash. The 47-year-old woman driving the semi that crossed the median and a 46-year-old male passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. Both were from Michigan.
The Eau Claire Leader-Telegram (http://bit.ly/vA8qkM ) says the driver of a semi owned by Nationwide Distributor was taken to a Mayo Clinic-affiliated treatment center in Osseo (OS’-ee-oh) with minor injuries. A passenger in the third semi received minor injuries, but was not transported.
