Economic & Community Development Committee to Consider Lombard Town Centre Funding
"A healthy downtown is key to the future of Lombard," said Trustee Peter Breen, chairperson of ECDC. "The issue of how much, and even whether, to fund the nonprofit organization that coordinates our downtown efforts is of vital importance to our Village. I invite interested Lombardians to attend this meeting in person or to email your comments to us."
Lombard Town Centre is an Illinois Main Street community-based volunteer organization, dedicated to preserving and promoting the historic downtown as the heart of Lombard and a vibrant commercial destination. The organization is comprised of a volunteer board and a paid executive director. Past expenses associated with the organization's activities have been primarily funded through a grant request from the Village. The ECDC will consider their funding request, their past actions and proposed work program and will ultimately make a funding recommendation to the Lombard Village Board.
Breen serves as Village Trustee for District 4, comprising northeast Lombard and the portion of downtown Lombard east of Main Street.
Residents and interested parties may provide their comments to William Heniff, Director of Community Development, by email to heniffw@villageoflombard.org or by telephone at (630) 620-3599.
