Buffalo Grove High School to host dance marathon

The Buffalo Grove High School Student Council will host its second annual Dance Marathon next week to raise money for wounded and disabled soldiers returning from war.

The event will feature teams of students participating in various dance games with the objective of being crowned the “dance champions,” said Rich Schram, student council sponsor.

Proceeds from the event will go to Salute, Inc., a nationally recognized charity based in Palatine that addresses the financial, physical and emotional needs of military service members, veterans and their families.

Each team member is required to raise at least $30. Last year the school donated over $3,000 from the event.

Dance Marathon will take place from 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10 at the Buffalo Grove High School Gymnasium.
