Voters need to bring photo ID to vote next week

INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana Secretary of State Charlie White is reminding Indiana residents they need to bring a photo ID with them when they go to the polls next week to vote in municipal elections.

The law passed in 2005 was the target of lawsuits. The Indiana Supreme Court upheld the law last year. White says voters who do not bring photo IDs will be allowed to vote provisionally and will be given the opportunity to present their IDs to their local county election board by noon on Nov. 18.

White also says voters can also visit www.IndianaVoters.com to get a copy of their ballot and to find contact information for all 92 county election boards.
