Girls basketball/Fox Valley practice under way

Girls basketball practice started around the area Monday, the first day the IHSA allows girls basketball teams to practice. That included at Burlington Central, where new head coach Jenna Real, a former Daily Herald All-Area captain, put the Rockets through the paces. Real takes over this season for Stephanie Smith, who left after two seasons to become a graduate assistant at Northern Illinois.

Games for girls basketball teams begin the week of Nov. 14.
