N. Aurora Woodman’s employees robbed in parking lot

Two employees of a North Aurora grocery store were robbed of money they were walking to the business’s nearby gas station Saturday afternoon, according to police.

The employees of Woodman’s Markets were transporting the undetermined amount of cash about 2 p.m. Saturday when a silver four-door vehicle pulled up behind them, police said. One man got out of the vehicle, which was possibly a 2011 or 2012 Hyundai Sonata or Toyota Camry, and struck one of the employees from behind. The man then grabbed the money and took off in the vehicle south on Orchard Road.

Police said the getaway driver and suspect who struck the employee were black men wearing dark clothing in a vehicle with a partial license plate of 64245.

The victim who was struck was treated by medics at the scene and released.
