2 killed in Rock Island shootings
ROCK ISLAND, Ill. — Police in Rock Island are investigating an outbreak of violence over the weekend that killed two 19-year-old men.
Rock Island police responded to a report of shots fired at a home early Sunday and found one of those men wounded. He later was pronounced dead at Trinity Rock Island Hospital. Police say a 17-year-old East Moline girl was wounded in that shooting and is in stable condition.
Less than four hours earlier, officers had responded to another report of shots fired and found another 19-year-old man shot. He also was pronounced dead at Trinity Rock Island.
Authorities aren't saying whether the shootings were related.
