A jury found Jose L. Alvarez, of the 300 block of North Street, guilty of predatory criminal sexual assault and two counts of criminal sexual assault of the girl, who is now 16.

He will be sentenced Dec. 1 by Kane County Judge Karen Simpson and faces a minimum of 14 years. The most serious charge has a top sentence of 30 years.

Assistant State’s Attorneys Nydia Molina and Lori Schmidt prosecuted the case.
