Model T museum plans move to new E. Indiana site

RICHMOND, Ind. — A museum dedicated to the Model T automobile of the early 1900s will be moving to a new location in eastern Indiana.

Leaders of the Model T Ford Club of America plan on opening a new museum next spring near downtown Richmond, replacing the current museum along Interstate 70 near the city.

Richmond officials have approved spending $250,000 on buying property for the new museum and parking.

Model T Club CEO Jay Klehfoth tells the Palladium-Item that the group plans to spend more than $50,000 on building improvements and intends to make the museum a destination spot.

He says the museum must be out of its present building by the end of this year and expects to have the new site open by April.
