Donate coats in St. Charles
Submitted by Baird & Warner Fox Valley
In honor of this year’s Make a Difference Day, the sales associates at the Baird & Warner Fox Valley office in St. Charles will be searching through their closets for coats, hats, scarves and mittens for local families who are struggling to stay afloat. They are asking you to do the same.
Donations of gently used winter outerwear for children, men and women can be dropped off at any Baird & Warner open house the weekend of Oct. 29 and 30. Call (630) 377-1855 for a complete list of open house locations. All visitors will be rewarded with a hearty thank you and a Halloween treat to take home.
Visiting open houses is a great way to define what features are important in your next home. Sign up with Baird & Warner to receive automatic email alerts on open houses in the price range and areas that interest you.
For those unable to bring their donations to an open house, they are welcome to stop by the B&W Fox Valley office, seven days a week, at 962 S. Randall Road in St. Charles, just one stoplight south of Route 38.
All of the Make a Difference coat drive contributions will be brought to the Clothes Closet, an all-volunteer program of Redeemer Fellowship of St. Charles. The Clothes Closet opens its doors once a month to anyone who is having financial difficulties.
“We are extremely pleased to support this program,” said Cathie Tardy, B&W sales manager. “It simply connects those who have with those who have not — a neighborly tradition that goes back to my grandma’s day.”
To find out more about the Clothes Closet, go to www.redeemerfellowship.org. Donations are accepted throughout the year from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fridays at 1125 W. Oak St. “Shopping” days are usually from 6:15 to 7:30 p.m. the first Monday of the month.
Cleaning out your closet is the first step to making a difference for local families in need this winter. Let a phone call to Baird & Warner be the second step.
