Schools should not get waivers
I highly disagree with the fact that the Obama administration wants to start giving out waivers to schools. I think that this is against what they were trying to do with the NCLB act to help struggling children and fix problems in schools.
Giving schools these waivers may inhibit the process of the schools furthering themselves to catch up with what NCLB is trying to do. Not only will this inhibit the process but it will also get schools to think that they can get by for another period in time and not do anything.
NCLB really needs to be reformed. Many schools aren’t getting along with the program and doing what they should, and NCLB has no real oversight and ruling over the schools. A struggle with education acts have been going on for far too long and it’s time for progress to be made and for education to become structured and not this big blob it seems to be now.
Furthermore I think that the Obama administration needs to come to a conclusion to find ways to improve and make NCLB something that can improve schools and not leave schools behind. It is called No Child Left Behind for a reason.
