Rolling Meadows men arrested on felony drug charges
Police arrested two young men on felony drug charges Friday night while executing a search warrant at a home in the 3300 block of Owl Drive in Rolling Meadows.
Michael Heintz, 20, was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, a Class 3 felony, possession of fireworks and unlawful possession of cannabis.
Assistant State’s Attorney Anisa Jordan said in court on Saturday morning that more than 30 grams of marijuana was found in Heintz’s bedroom at the home on Owl Drive. She said police also found digital scales and plastic bags of various sizes used for the distribution and sale of the drug.
Jose Castro, 19, of Rolling Meadows, was arrested at the same time. Jordan said she was not sure if Castro was living at the home on Owl Drive at the time of the arrest. Castro faces the same drug charges as Heintz.
The judge issued a $20,000 bond for each offender, which requires $2,000 to be posted to be released. The judge also set special requirements of the bond stating that if the men were released, they are required to refrain from using drugs and alcohol and may not possess any firearms or dangerous weapons.
The men are scheduled to appear in court again on Nov. 17.
