Gunman shoots woman inside Indianapolis store

INDIANAPOLIS — Police say a gunman shot a woman inside a convenience store on the north side of Indianapolis.

The shooting at a Village Pantry store along 86th Street happened just after midnight Friday and police say the woman was taken to a hospital in critical condition. WISH-TV reports the victim is a clerk at the store and was shot in the head.

A city police spokeswoman says investigators didn’t immediately know the circumstances of the shooting but that officers were looking for a man who witnesses saw leaving the area on foot.
