Changes, promotions in Arlington Heights police department
Changes are under way in the Arlington Heights Police Department as two longtime officers received promotions recently while a third is taking on new responsibilities.
Kenneth F. Galinski Jr. was promoted to the rank of captain, and will now head the department’s patrol division. Galinski joined the Arlington Heights force in 1983, and most recently led the investigations division. He was an officer in Hoffman Estates before moving over to Arlington Heights.
Replacing him as the head of investigations is Miguel Hernandez, who with the move was promoted to the rank of commander. The former sergeant joined the department in 1987 after previously serving in Hanover Park.
Capt. Nicholas A. Pecora Jr. is moving from overseeing patrol to heading department administration. He has been a sworn officer for 25 years.
