FBI seeks man in Hoffman Estates bank robbery
The Chicago office of the FBI released surveillance photos Thursday of a man they say robbed a Hoffman Estates bank Wednesday afternoon.
Authorities say the robbery occurred at a TCF Bank located inside a Jewel Food Store at 1069 N. Roselle Road. A man approached the teller counter about 2:25 p.m., displayed a handgun in his waistband and demanded money, the FBI reported. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the man fled on foot. No injuries were reported.
Witnesses described the man as being a white male between 25 and 35 years of age, standing between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-9 with a thin to medium build. The man wore Aviator-style sunglasses, a fake goatee, a dark-colored zip-up jacket with a hood, dark gloves, jeans and work boots. The man also had a distinctive nose which might have been fake, the FBI said.
Anyone with information about the robbery is encouraged to call the FBI at (312) 421-6700, or the Hoffman Estates Police Department at (847) 781-2949.
