Deport those accused of felonies
After reading the op-ed column by Rodney Craig, village president of Hanover Park, I felt I had to voice my opinion. I definitely agree we need a change in our illegal immigration policy now. Do we have to wait until someone is killed by an illegal immigrant to see them put in jail and not given bond? Police say these men attacked four officers and that one tried to get one of the officer’s gun. What do people think he planned to do with the gun?
Our law officers have a right to protect their lives and the lives of others. Why does it take so long for ICE personnel to come to the individual jails to pick up these offenders? Why should they be let out on bond when they have committed a felony? It is bad enough to have people coming into America illegally, but then to commit a felony and be let out on bond? What is our judicial system thinking?
We should remember the names of the elected officials who are in favor of this decision. When the election comes up, vote them out! Our laws come first, and especially if you commit a felony you and yours should all be deported immediately.
