Star Cellini trial witness back on stand

The star witness at an Illinois powerbroker's shakedown trial is taking the stand for a fifth day.

An attorney for millionaire William Cellini will keep trying to tear down Stuart Levine's credibility on Tuesday.

Levine is the only prosecution witness who claims direct knowledge of Cellini's alleged participation in a shakedown of the producer of “Million Dollar Baby.”

There's plenty of ammunition the defense can use to attack Levine's believability.

Defense attorney Dan Webb on Monday sought to portray Levine as a habitual liar and serial crook. Webb asked Levine to tell jurors about his decades of drug abuse and about multiple plots to commit fraud.

Prosecutors have said they could rest their case in the three-week-old trial by Thursday.

Cellini has denied any wrongdoing.
